Getting started.

What is NOT YET+

An iPhone app (iOS 26+) that blocks the apps you choose until you complete a real-world condition — steps, going outside, reaching a place, an NFC tap, one task, or a time. Morning-first, with Focus Lock for the rest of the day and a Wake Alarm that wants proof you got up.

How morning rules work+

Pick app groups that can wait, pick one or more challenges, set the schedule. From your chosen morning start, those apps are shielded until every condition is met. Progress shows on the morning status screen; when all conditions are met you get the FINE. screen and your apps back.

Choosing apps+

Tapping a group (Social, Work, News, Entertainment, Shopping, Other) opens Apple's own app picker. We only ever hold opaque tokens — never app names. You can block anything the picker can see, including email and Slack.

Creating your first rule+

Onboarding walks you through it: What can wait → pick a challenge → configure the target → set the schedule → review & lock. You can stack more conditions after the first.

SASSY vs BRUTAL+

Two authored voices. SASSY makes the point; BRUTAL makes sure you remember it. Both witty, never cruel — we mock the behaviour, not the person. Change it any time in settings, including on days you're feeling fragile.

Challenges.

Steps+

Walk a chosen number of steps — 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000 or custom — counted via Apple Health. Locked until you've moved.

Touch Grass+

You set a boundary around wherever you start the day — home, a hotel, a friend’s sofa. The app checks exactly one thing: inside or outside. No history, nothing leaves your phone.

Push+

Push-ups (10, 20, 30) or squats. Manual confirmation from day one; on-device camera counting for both is planned for public launch in October, subject to device testing.

Tap+

Locked until you tap a registered NFC tag where your morning happens — mirror, kitchen, front door. Tap uses a registered NOT YET Tag.

Go+

Reach a place you chose — gym, coffee shop, office, park. Arrived / not arrived is the only check.

One Thing+

Name one thing you'll do first — shower, feed the dog, get dressed — then confirm it. On your honour; the app doesn't verify it.

Time+

Apps stay shut until a time you pick. Email at 9:00, not 6:52. Useful for work apps and news.

Stacked conditions+

Require more than one condition per app group — e.g. Touch Grass + 1,000 steps + bathroom Tag for socials, while work simply waits until 9:00. Each group can have its own rules.

Focus Lock.

What is Focus Lock+

Scheduled daytime windows where chosen apps wait — same lock as the morning, any hour. Access during a window is earned, and temporary.

Scheduled daytime blocking+

Create windows (12:00–15:00 SOCIAL · weekdays, say). During the window the selected group is blocked. Different groups can have different windows.

Earned temporary access+

Genuinely need in mid-window? Complete the window's earn-back task — e.g. 250 steps or 20 push-ups — and the apps open temporarily.

Short earned breaks+

An earned break lasts 5, 15 or 30 minutes (15 by default), then relocks automatically. Deliberately short: a real check can happen; a two-hour scroll can't. The window itself still ends when it ends — force-quitting the app does not release it.

Emergency Override+

A deliberate hold for real emergencies — a ten-second hold with a progress ring and a cancel, never an accidental tap, never buried in settings. Overrides are recorded in your own history and never punished: no shaming, no streak penalty, nobody notified. Override always releases everything that isn't social; whether it releases social too is a choice you make in advance.

Editing / disabling+

Focus Lock → select a window → Edit changes times, apps or the earn-back task. Toggle off to pause, delete to remove. Changes to an active window apply when you confirm.

Wake Alarm.

Proof of Awake+

The alarm doesn't stop for a tap — it stops for proof: MOVE (steps), TAP (an NFC tag) or PUSH (push-ups or squats, counted by the camera). You pick when creating the alarm.

MOVE+

Walk 20, 30, 50, 100 or a custom number of steps. Only steps taken after the alarm starts count — sleep-steps don't exist. Counted by the iPhone's own step counter, so it needs Motion & Fitness access, not Health.

TAP+

Silence the alarm by tapping a registered NOT YET Tag. Put it somewhere that requires standing up.

Re-arm / snooze+

You choose the snooze at setup — 5, 10 or 15 minutes, and how many, from three down to none. If you allow it, stopping early buys 3, 5 or 10 minutes (your setting), at most 3 times — then it rings until you prove you're up.

Shared morning progress+

Alarm proof counts toward morning rules: the 30 steps that stopped the alarm are the first 30 of your 1,000. A tag tapped for the alarm already satisfies that Tap condition. Never duplicate proof.

Missing Tag+

If a TAP alarm's tag is deleted or unreadable, the alarm falls back to a dismissable state rather than ringing forever. Switch that alarm to MOVE or re-register a tag.

Motion & Fitness permission+

MOVE counts steps with the iPhone's own step counter, so it needs Motion & Fitness access, not Health. Turn it on in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → NOT YET, switch the alarm to TAP or PUSH, or delete the alarm.

Tags.

Do I need a NOT YET Tag+

For the Tap rule, yes. Tap uses NOT YET Tags. The Wake Alarm can use steps or push-ups instead, and every other rule needs no hardware at all.

Registering a Tag+

Rules → Tap → Set up Tap → hold the top of your iPhone against the tag → name it for where it lives. Registration is local; raw tag contents aren't uploaded.

Multiple Tags+

Register as many as you like. Different tags can serve different rules — bathroom for the alarm, front door for the morning rule.

Tag orders+

Branded Tags: finishes, packs and prices are shown in the shop, plus shipping. On sale now, with delivery aimed for December 2026. Cancel any time before dispatch for a full refund. If your order has not been dispatched by 5 January 2027, you will receive a full refund. Shipping destinations and delivery options are confirmed at checkout and may differ from app availability.

Tracking+

Where tracking is available you'll get carrier, tracking number and link by email. Carrier data may lag reality; give it 24 hours before worrying.

Faults / replacements+

Damaged, dead NFC, wrong item: message support with your order reference — faulty Tags are replaced or refunded per consumer law. Adhesive failure under normal use: free replacement Tag, you pay shipping. Change-of-mind returns aren't offered beyond your statutory rights.

Push.

Manual Push+

Do the reps, confirm on your honour. Available from day one. The friction is the point; the honesty is yours.

Camera counting+

Planned for public launch in October: on-device pose detection counts your push-ups or squats through the camera, once device testing is complete. Nothing is uploaded for counting.

Camera positioning+

Push-ups, close: phone on the floor about a metre away, in front of you and off to one side, tilted up at your shoulders and arms. Push-ups, side-on: 2–2.5 metres away, whole body in frame. Squats: side-on, 2–3 metres away, head and feet in frame at the bottom of the squat. Decent light.

Invalid rep+

Partial reps don't count — full extension down and up. Skipped reps usually mean framing: move the phone further away or more side-on.

Permission issue+

Camera counting needs camera access: Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → NOT YET. A Camera rule needs it. If you would rather not allow the camera, choose MANUAL when you set up the rule.

Camera or manual+

Manual counting is a separate choice you make when you set up the rule: choose MANUAL and you confirm your reps on your honour. A Camera rule always needs the camera. There is no manual fallback once it is active, so check your space and light when you choose it. Emergency Override is still available if something genuinely goes wrong.

Subscriptions.

What is the difference between Individual and Family?+

Individual covers one person — Morning Lock, Focus Lock, alarms, app and category blocking and all seven challenge methods at launch — at £7.99/month or £79.99/year, with a separate £2.99 first-month intro that then renews at £7.99/month. Family adds the parent layer on top: parent and guardian controls, linked child devices and profiles, rules and schedules per child, approvals, and School Day. It is £24.99/month or £249.99/year after 7 days free. Children on a Family plan also get the full app for themselves.

Does Founding Lifetime include Family?+

Individual Lifetime covers one adult. Separate Founding Family Lifetime costs £299.99 once for two adults and up to four child seats until age 18, limited to 2,500 places. Both Lifetime plans charge immediately without a trial and last for as long as NOT YET exists. Family monthly and annual subscriptions are coming in January 2027.

The £2.99 first month+

£2.99 for your first month on the Monthly subscription, charged immediately, no trial. Renews at the standard £7.99/month unless cancelled. It never continues at £2.99.

Monthly+

£7.99/month with a seven-day trial for eligible new customers. Auto-renews after the trial; cancel through Apple. The £2.99 first-month intro is a separate offer, charged immediately with no free trial. Apple confirms offer eligibility at purchase.

Annual+

£79.99/year — about £6.67 a month, roughly 17% less than twelve standard monthly payments. Eligible new customers receive a seven-day trial. Auto-renews. Tags are separate, at the prices shown in the shop, plus shipping.

Lifetime+

Individual Lifetime starts at the published first-band price of £49.99, with ten bands up to £139.99 and 10,000 places. Current price and availability are confirmed at purchase. Separate Family Lifetime is £299.99, limited to 2,500 places. Both charge immediately, have no trial or renewal, and last for as long as NOT YET exists. See Terms §11.

7-day trial+

Eligible new customers receive seven days free on standard Individual monthly, Individual annual, Family monthly or Family annual subscriptions. The £2.99 introductory first month and both Lifetime plans have no trial. Unless cancelled in time, the subscription renews at the price of the selected plan under Apple’s billing rules.

Restore+

New phone or reinstall: paywall or Settings → Restore purchases, signed into the Apple ID you bought with. Subscriptions and Lifetime both restore.

Cancel+

Settings → your name → Subscriptions → NOT YET → Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel. You keep access until the paid period ends.

Refunds+

Apple processes payment, so refunds go through Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Statutory rights against us are unaffected.

Lifetime cap+

Individual Lifetime has 10,000 places across ten price bands from £49.99 to £139.99. Family Lifetime has a separate 2,500-place limit. Refunded purchases release their places; returned Individual places resell at the currently open band price. Current availability is confirmed at purchase.

Troubleshooting.

Screen Time permission+

The lock itself. Without it nothing can be shielded. Settings → Screen Time → ensure NOT YET is authorised; reinstall and re-grant if broken.

Health permission+

Steps rules and MOVE alarms can't count without it. Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → NOT YET → enable Steps.

Location permission+

Touch Grass and Go need it (While Using). Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → NOT YET.

Notifications+

Messages and nudges only — the shield works without them. Settings → Notifications → NOT YET.

NFC+

Hold the TOP edge flat against the tag for a second. Remove thick cases; avoid metal behind the tag. Only Type 2 tags are supported.

Camera+

Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → NOT YET. A Camera rule needs camera access and has no manual fallback. To count on your honour instead, choose MANUAL when you set up the rule.

App blocking+

If a blocked app opens anyway: check Screen Time authorisation is granted, the schedule window is active, and the app is actually in the chosen group (re-open the group picker to verify).

Override+

The emergency override always works: hold for 10 seconds. It's counted, and tomorrow's message will mention it. If you need it daily, loosen the rule instead.

Privacy.

What languages is NOT YET in?+

English at launch. Additional language choices are coming from February 2027, then the rest of the world from March 2027 onwards. Dates, times, distances and prices already format to your region. If a voice recording is missing in your language you get on-screen text rather than an English line spoken at you.

What stays on device+

Your chosen apps, name, reason, goal, step progress, location checks, tag contents, message history, challenge state — on your iPhone, by design.

Step data+

Read from Apple Health with your permission, evaluated on-device. Never used for ads, never sold.

Location+

Inside/outside your boundary or arrived/not arrived — one boolean, on-device, no history.

NFC+

Tag registration and matching are local. Raw tag contents aren't uploaded.

Personalisation+

Messages are authored, not AI-generated, and personalised locally using your name, rule, progress and reason — none of which needs to leave the phone.

Support diagnostics+

When you message support we see what you send plus basic app/device info — never your behavioural history. Details in the Privacy Policy.
