In the app

Tap is one of seven.

Register a tag once and it becomes a challenge like any other — pick Tap, name where it lives, and that is the rule. Stack it with Steps or Touch Grass if one tap is too easy to negotiate with.

On-metal and ferrite-backed, so it works stuck to a fridge, a mirror frame or a metal door — the places NFC usually fails. Adhesive backing. No battery, no charging, no pairing.

The object

A full stop you can touch.

The mark is the product. One flat face and nothing on it but the dot. No logo, no text, no icon — if you have to explain what it is, the design has failed.

tag ID, for revoking a lost one
Why the back carries an ID

If a tag is lost or a housemate moves out, that one tag has to be revocable without breaking the others. The printed ID is how you tell us which. It is not a serial number that identifies you — it identifies the tag, and only your account knows they are connected.

The packaging

Large letter, not a box.

A rigid card sleeve, deliberately sized to post as a large letter rather than a parcel. On a product this small, packaging that needs a parcel rate costs more than the margin.

What the packaging deliberately does not do

No plastic, no blister pack, no printed manual. Three lines on the back is the whole instruction set, and anything longer would mean the product needs explaining.

No claim about what it does for you. It says it works on metal and needs no battery, because those are the two things people actually doubt. It does not say it will change your mornings — that is the app’s job, and a claim on a card is a claim we would have to stand behind.

Form study for the supplier brief · proportions to scale · final artwork, die-line and material finish to be produced with the manufacturer · glow-in-the-dark face requires its own read-reliability sample before it ships

The three-pack exists because most households want a kitchen, a hallway and one more.

Your phone works without one

You don’t need a NOT YET Tag to use the core app. Morning Rules, Wake Alarm, Focus Lock and the other core features work without one.

A NOT YET Tag gives you an additional physical way to complete compatible rules. Place one somewhere that gets you moving, such as the kitchen, hallway, bathroom or by the front door, then tap it with your phone when required.

For security and reliability, Tag challenges only work with official NOT YET Tags. Third-party NFC tags are not supported.
